Attending a Masquerade

masqueradeRecently, one of my foreign friends is going to have a birthday party in Guangzhou, actually it is much more like a masquerade. To be honest, I have never been in a party, as you know, Chinese people are not open-minded like foreigners and the people whom I know have never held a party. Oh, my God, what should I do? I don’t want to look like an idiot when I am there.

I have known that foreign friend for about 1 year. He once held several parties and every time he invited me there, but I refused cause I am really not that kind of party girl. I don’t know what I should wear, what should I do what should I say in the parties. I am kind of afraid of attending parties. However this time, I can’t get rid of his birthday party or he is going to end friendship with me.

Well, it seems like there is no chance to avoid this. All I have to do is face it. First, I have to figure out what I should I wear on the party. Since it is a masquerade, then I can’t wear regular clothes. Well, then if I wear some cosplay costume, then others will not know who I am and even though I do something stupid, others will not know who it is. Thinking of these, I don’t feel that scared now.

Aware of what I should do right now, I start to search cosplay costume in the internet cause I am not familiar with Guangzhou and it is much more convenient to buy stuff on the internet. I searched a lot and found that there are so many cosplay costumes, like Lolita cosplay, one piece cosplay and many cosplay costumes once appearing in cartons, like the popular Narrator which I have been watching since the first scene.

Well, finally I found a great cosplay costume store on the internet. It is fantastic and is like the heaven of cosplay costumes, like Code Grass cosplay, Inuyasha cosplay, Bleach cosplay and so on.

Actually I like Akashi best in Narrator, so I decide to buy some of his costumes, like his veil, so I can hide part of my face and for others; it is not that easy to recognize me. I also buy his headband and I think if I put that on my head, it will make me much cooler. I also buy Naruto Akatsuki Cosplay Costume which is also very cool and although it is not a very nice organization. Check out.


Well, I think with these three costumes, they will not recognize who I am and I will look very cool. This time, I don’t think my friend is going to be angry with me. I am going to have fun at his birthday party.

Right now, I just need to wait for the costumes and I am definitely going to shock my friend.

Cosplay Is Everywhere

Generally speacking, it means that people play or imitate the roles once appearing in amines or games by using certain costumes, accessories, props, make-up or m aye other things. Usually the people who play cosplay are called cosplayer.

In the human history, cosplay is mainly used to express myths and legends, folk anecdotes, festival stories, literary works, philosophical theory, worshiping ancestor and other events to display roles and contents vividly.


Actually during the masquerades, Halloween, New Year march, National Day procession and some other special events, there are many people who will play the roles in many stories or showing up in the image of some kind of mascot. We can see the strong cosplay culture from these events.

Speaking of Halloween, I can’t help thinking of Friends again because I watched the scene which Monica and Chandler hold a Halloween party last night. At that party, everybody wears certain cosplay costume, but at the same time, you don’t have to wear the cosplay outfits, you just need to play certain people by imitating his behaviors or his accents. Like Joey in that party, although he wears regular clothes, actually he plays Chandler in imitating his accents. Well, it is really funny.

Among all the people who wear cosplay costumes in that Halloween party, the most funny is Chandler who wears a pink bunny costume picked by his wife Monica; by the way, she thinks Chandler will love that. Another people who wear the funny costume are Rose who is thought to play dung by Joey. Actually his costume does like a dung We all know Rose is a kind of weird  and crazy about science .So it is not that strange for him to wear that costume.

Actually I want to say cospaly is everywhere in our life and used in different places and occasions. Let me take an interesting example. We all know the Asian Game is going to hold in Guangzhou on 12th to 27th November. To promote this huge event, Guangzhou government do many jobs also including the calling more people to be a good volunteer. In this case, the government chooses the cute carton roles Pleasant Goat and Big Wolf and other roles once appearing in that famous carton as the leaders. They also let people wear the anime cosplay costumes of Pleasant Goat and Big Wolf when they hold the opening of this volunteer activity.

Well, now can you get a brief idea about cosplay and notice that cosplay is actually everywhere in our life? Next time, maybe you can also play someone by wearing certain cosplay costumes.

This is a necessity because a good cosplay character will be one that is going to be more appealing and attractive to other people. Be sure to take a look at this when getting a good cosplay outfit going or when choosing a particular character that one is going to be going to a cosplay event as.
