Whether you are a parent looking to outfit your kid for Halloween or if you are an adult who wants an awesome costume for a Halloween party, expect to spend a pretty penny.  If you don’t have that extra money to spend, I recommended Craigslist.  You might be surprised how many unique costumes you can find at an affordable price.

The wise cracking metal robot from the Futurama series.

8. Jason:

Yeah It’s nothing more than just a hockey mask, but the fact that this guy is also huge and menacing very like the movie depiction of Jason makes it that much more creepy!

7. Clingons:
No true comic con is complete without a couple of trekies dressed up like some Clingons.

6. Elektra:
It is a definite tie between these two hot nerdy chicks dressed up as the sexy comic character Elektra.

5. Super Girl:
I actually think this is a spot on accurate look at Super Girl.

4. Storm Trooper:
Again same as the Clingons, no comic con is complete without a legit looking Storm Trooper parading the halls.

3. Cobra Commander:
I love this red and black Cobra Commander, and the chrome helmet I think was his best look, way better than that rag on his face.

2. Captain Jack Sparrow:
This guy looks like he just walked right out of the scenery from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney Land.

1. Star Trek Cyborg:
I am not a Trek fan at all so I may have titled this guy wrong, but the work he put into this cosplay outfit paid off, looks killer!

Halloween Costumes

While we mention costumes, I think most of people would immediately think about Halloween costumes. However, we are here to tell you that Costumes are not just for Halloween anymore. Maybe most people like playing dress up as a kid. Theme parties give everyone a perfect excuse to dress up. Today, there are costumes for everyone: adults, kids Halloween costumes, pets and etc. Costumes allow you to step into a completely different persona: super heroes, super villains, medieval, sexy, and anyone you can imagine. There are literally thousands of costumes to choose from. You are only limited by your own imagination.

However, other than needing buy Halloween costumes every October 31st, there are many other occasions appropriate for finding the perfect costume. Theme parties and private occasions open up even more possibilities. You can choose to be a clown on birthdays, Abe Lincoln for President’s Day, a bunny for Easter, a leprechaun for Saint Patrick’s Day, Uncle Sam for the Fourth of July, or even a pilgrim (or Turkey) for Thanksgiving. Becoming whatever character you want to be has never been easier if you buy costumes from us.

You’ll be happy to know that size doesn’t matter when searching for costumes. You can really turn heads at your next big get-together with the right costume. Become a saloon girl or deputy sheriff for a western themed party, royalty at a 17th century masquerade ball, or a stage performer for a burlesque-themed event. 1970s, hippie style parties are popular among college students, as are 1920s theme parties where you get to wear a tuxedo or sexy flapper dress. And then there are the elegant old Hollywood glamour parties to get all dolled up for as well. A wide variety of plus sized options are available. You’ll find a much better selection of plus size costumes online than in retail shops. There are plenty of biblical, Christmas, and Easter costumes as well as specialty theme items. You can even find plus size couples costumes for you and that special someone.

You love your pets, so when you dress up in costume you want them to look their best too. It’s common to see pets dressed up in Thanksgiving, Easter and of course Halloween costumes. You can choose from a variety of special collars, hats, capes and boots. You can even dress your pet to complement your own costume. The variety of Halloween costumes available online makes dressing up cheap and easy all year long!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Sorcerer and wizard Costume

Sorcerer costumes

Try to understand; try to understand…he’s a magic man. Ah, Ann and Nancy Wilson, you know what gets a girl, don’t you? Okay, so the Queen of Halloween is spouting the lyrics of Heart, a personal fave, thank you very much, and thinking of what to encourage her new fellow to wear, costume wise. Then it struck her, there is nothing more magical than a magic man; magic- sorcerer, it’s perfect and brilliant. It’s perfectly brilliant!

So, the Queen looked around online and found several examples of perfectly good sorcerer costumes, with one standing out as her decided favorite. Come on, guys, this one is great because there is not a lot of stuff to put on, and it fits all body types perfectly well. It starts with a purple cloak, usually covered with silver symbols of magic and mystery. Most of these costumes do come with a pointed wizard cap. To really look like a wise wizard, add in a flowing white wig and long white beard and you are perfect.

If you would like to be a more demented or evil sorcerer, use a black cloak and make the hair stand out a little more- think static electricity rather than gently flowing energy. For both sorcerer costumes, you can choose the props that you would like to carry- suggestions include a spell book, a wand and various magic bits in your pockets. If you can find them, carry small, clean glass bottles with interesting labels such as “dragon’s fire”, “frog breath” and other ingredients. (For an adults only party you could use these to carry your “tonic” if you would like, just make sure that someone else will be doing the flying on the way home.

Finally, please guys, (and I mean mine too on this one) do not ruin the look of your sorcerer costume by forgetting about your shoes. Nothing ruins the magic moment of a magic man than grimy sneakers or worse, sandals with socks under your cloak of mystery. Show up looking like that and you might as well be wearing the cloak of misery because you won’t be showing up with any of the ladies!

So, how can you find these costumes?

To get started, visit Craigslist.org.  Choose your location by selecting your state and nearest city.  Over on the left-hand side of the page, you will see a search box.  Your searches are automatically set to search “for sale” items.  All you need to do is enter in a search phrase.  For the best results, use nothing more than the words “Halloween” or “costume.”

After submitting your search, you will see a list of headlines.  Most sellers are descriptive here, meaning you should be able to tell right away whether the costume is for a baby, toddler, child, teenager, or adult.  You should also get some idea what the costume is about, like Mickey Mouse or a cheerleader.

Once you find a costume (based on the headline) you think you’d like, click for more information.  Inside, you should see a picture, a brief description of the costume’s condition, and a method of contact.  If you like what you see, use the provided phone number or email address.  Around this time, cheap Halloween costumes are in high demand, so you want to act quick.

For the most part, buying Halloween costumes from Craigslist is a great way to save money.  Not only that, you are likely to find some like-new costumes.  Think about it, most people (especially children) wear a costume once.  The only wear and tear you may notice is some slight discoloring or fading from a couple of washes.

In short, not only can you find cheap Halloween costumes on Craigslist, but you can find unique costumes too.  If unique is what you are looking for, that woman who came across her Halloween costume from 15 years ago and listed it on Craigslist may have just what you need!
