Anime Costumes: Highly Creative

Media Cosplay WigMost of the anime cartoons are very different from the usual Disney or loony tune characters. These anime characters mostly reflect the Japanese culture and hence the anime dresses are also based on the Japanese way of dressing. The characters involved in anime are humans, and there are not many characters like sociable animals, friendly ghosts, ferocious wolves etc.

Some of the anime characters like Nuro Rikuo and Hayase are unlike the regular Halloween characters. They are known for their action packed entertainment and hence sport anime dresses that are worn for martial arts in Japan. You should have own properties with you for you to be able to internalize the character that you chose.

Below are some of the tips to designing your own anime dresses:

  • Give importance to your line drawing as much as possible. Keep practicing the line technique as it is the crucial aspect of anime designing. Use tracing paper and re run the lines again and again so that you attain the much needed practice to design costumes.
  • Keep improvising on existing characters and come up with variations on them. With new innovations, you can settle on a style that you feel is best suited for you.
  • Look at the designs of plenty of anime dresses and learn about the creative skills used based on the type of character and the action levels needed.
  • Special attention is needed on the folds in the fabrics. Some fabrics fold more while others fold less. While adding gestures or movements to the anime characters, concentrate on even breathing aspects as the costumes might change shape temporarily due to breathing, gasping etc.

You can design your own costumes for anime characters by plenty of practicing, applying a bit of creativity and trying them out on different kinds of light settings. Also ensure that enough props and accessories are appropriately designed to suit the costumes. It is vital that extra care is taken while selecting the character because as the character is complex, the work you need to do is tougher.
