Cosplay Is Everywhere
Cosplay is the abbreviation for costume play. In Japanese, it is コスプレ. Generally speacking, it means that people play or imitate the roles once appearing in amines or games by using certain costumes, accessories, props, make-up or m aye other things. Usually the people who play cosplay are called cosplayer.
In the human history, cosplay is mainly used to express myths and legends, folk anecdotes, festival stories, literary works, philosophical theory, worshiping ancestor and other events to display roles and contents vividly.
Actually during the masquerades, Halloween, New Year march, National Day procession and some other special events, there are many people who will play the roles in many stories or showing up in the image of some kind of mascot. We can see the strong cosplay culture from these events.
Speaking of Halloween, I can’t help thinking of Friends again because I watched the scene which Monica and Chandler hold a Halloween party last night. At that party, everybody wears certain cosplay costume, but at the same time, you don’t have to wear the cosplay outfits, you just need to play certain people by imitating his behaviors or his accents. Like Joey in that party, although he wears regular clothes, actually he plays Chandler in imitating his accents. Well, it is really funny.
Among all the people who wear cosplay costumes in that Halloween party, the most funny is Chandler who wears a pink bunny costume picked by his wife Monica; by the way, she thinks Chandler will love that. Another people who wear the funny costume are Rose who is thought to play dung by Joey. Actually his costume does like a dung We all know Rose is a kind of weird and crazy about science .So it is not that strange for him to wear that costume.
Actually I want to say cospaly is everywhere in our life and used in different places and occasions. Let me take an interesting example. We all know the Asian Game is going to hold in Guangzhou on 12th to 27th November. To promote this huge event, Guangzhou government do many jobs also including the calling more people to be a good volunteer. In this case, the government chooses the cute carton roles Pleasant Goat and Big Wolf and other roles once appearing in that famous carton as the leaders. They also let people wear the anime cosplay costumes of Pleasant Goat and Big Wolf when they hold the opening of this volunteer activity.
