Just like in any other hobby there are people who can very easily throw caution to the wind when they get involved deeply in Cosplay and we feel that a few words of caution are in order. Especially for those who are just beginning it is important for you to decide beforehand how much money you are going to be spending. A good place for you to begin is to do a thorough research on the internet in order to get a rough idea of what the average prices for most of the items are. That way you will not spend more money than you really need to for you to enjoy the whole thing.  Also take time to inspect the costumes so that you get just what you really wanted to look like.

For you to really be in the game you need to choose someone you can actually look like without too much effort.  For the beginners you may want to consider beginning with characters that are not too complicated. These are those characters that will do with such a little bit of design.  When it comes to the fabrics you need to make sure that you select appropriate ones and the rule of the thumb is to make sure that they are such that they are breathable.  You need to try and avoid those materials that are heavy since they are likely to make you sweat it out badly.

If you are just starting out consider following a pattern that is not too hard for you to adapt and a good place for you to start is at a fabric store and search for fabric tones that are hard bound since they are most popular with most enthusiasts.  You sometimes may need to work on your garment with some dye if that is what will make it appear like it ought to. Many people find it easier to dull colors that are to bright and many fabric stores stock the correct type of dye.

With just a little effort you could find that your own closet has some of the items that you require and all that may be needed is just a little modification here and there.  You will not only save your dollars but will also have saved the time you will have needed to do some sewing. Take a look at the shoes you have and see if any could be modified instead of going straight to acquire some expensive pair, especially if money is in short supply.  A clever trick would be for you to take a photograph of your favorite character and then use it in your choice of the costume that you are going to require.
