A good cosplay sword is something that you can make on your own. Here is a simple process to use with regards to getting a sword ready for your cosplay costume.

You should first consider the sword that you are working with. It will help to take a look at how the size of the sword is proportionate to the body of the character that is using it. This should be used as a guide for helping you to figure out how many physical materials will have to be used for your costume.

After you figure out what sword you will be making you can begin. You should look to get a durable type of material ready for your base. A good piece of foam board or cardboard should be used. You can easily cut this material with a sharp knife.

After this is done you should take a look at the coverage materials that will be used for your sword. A good amount of aluminum foil can work as a cover for the fake blade. This is provided that you make sure that the foil is completely flat and does not have any creases in it.

It will help to look into the handle. You should look to get a durable glue or tape material to work between your handle and your fake blade. This comes from how the handle can feature a width or shape that is different from what your blade will be using. One tip to use at this point is to consider getting a large circular area ready between the handle and the blade ends. A hole that will be used on the inside of this area can be used.

You should look into one of two things for your handle cover. Either a ribbon or a piece of foil can be used over the handle. The material should be of the same color as what is used on the sword that you are copying.

After you get the entire sword built up you should look to see that it works with all of its details. A good sword will feature details like marks, etchings and fake gems. These are things that can easily get a sword to look just like what your character is going to be using.

This is a simple procedure that can be used for you to get your cosplay sword set up. This can be used to help with making your costume look great.
